The National Congress of Women (NCW), the women’s arm of the People’s National Congress Reform held their Biennial Convention on Monday 28^th July 2014 at Congress Place, Sophia.  The Convention was attended by Delegates and Observers from all ten administrative Regions of Guyana; representatives from North America also attended. Seven hundred and ninety-four (794) persons were accredited Delegates to the 18th Biennial Congress from all ten administrative Regions in Guyana as well as from the North American and the UK  Regions to deliberate on the serious issues that are facing the nation.   

It was evident, from the orchestrated media campaign that was being conducted, that the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) Chairman of Region Ten, Mr. Sharma Solomon and some of his support group were intent on causing the maximum disruption to the 18^th Biennial Delegates Congress. The 18^th Biennial Congress of the People’s National Congress Reform will be held from Friday 25th July to Sunday 27th July 2014 under the theme: “PNCR For National Unity, Good Governance and Development.” More than 1,000 Delegates and Observers from the ten (10) Administrative Regions of Guyana, as well as the North American and UK Regions, will be participating and indeed, some members of delegations have already started to arrive.
